As a young girl growing up in a large family food big had an influence in my life. Sunday meals were special to me. We all had an assigned task in preparation for our Sunday dinner; from making homemade lemonade to setting the dining room table to even sometimes snapping green beans or shucking corn.
My grandmother Mary and my mother, Earlene were excellent cooks! They never actually taught me how to cook, but me being a very observant girl, I was always in the kitchen learning by watching

those beautiful Black women create meals for their family & friends.
That is the legacy they left me and helped shape me as cook and baker and it is the legacy that I  hoped to leave with my sons, as they now both share my love of cooking.

In 2023, I was honored to be selected to compete in the prestigious James Beard Foundation "Favorite Chef" fundraising competition that is lead by master chef, Chef Carla Hall. It brought together 128,000 top chefs, passionate home cooks, and creative food artists to showcase their skills—all while supporting a great cause. What a great opportunity it was for me, the only home cook to make into the "Top 64". 

 

 

Every dish and dessert featured here is entirely real and photographed by me. These photos reflect my dedication to authenticity, craftsmanship, and refined visual storytelling. Through my camera lens, each creation embodies the harmony of taste, texture, and timeless elegance.
